I came away with a few new wrinkles that was inspired by both webinars. Usually NCSA will send the links from last night's session (s) to forward to others who might have missed it or for volleyball families that need to re-visit those sessions, can do so.

First off this morning...congrats to the Creek Volleyball Clubs 15-Irish, for winning the St. Gregory's tournament this past weekend...well done!!

Another day closer to the first National Qualifier of the year...yesterday, the Oklahoma Peak Performance 14 Smack won the Gold Ball and qualified for the Junior National Championships. Last year Oklahoma Peak Performance won the 14's, 15's and 16 division at Crossroads!!

Our VB future is in our attitude, in how we face our challenges, in how we make a commitment to maximize our strengths. The future of Lady Irish Volleyball is to focus on moving forward together with purpose.

May I articulate two main focus points as a program outsider...The first focus point for the team is to train and to maximize the abilities of each individual on our team. Lady Irish student-athletes in the program must be fully committed to becoming stronger, improving technique and increasing their volleyball IQ.

The second focus point for our VB program is the Lady Irish volleyball team must get “bigger,” meaning higher above the net. Our Lady Irish must have a championship mentality and an attitude of focus, drive and competitiveness.

Big Tournament Weekend...

Major tournaments are happening on this Presidents Day Weekend...perhaps the largest will be the Asics Presidents Day Classic in Omaha, Neb...over 150 College VB representatives (the list grows daily) will embark on the CenturyLink Omaha Convention Center. Kansas City will also host a Presidents Day tournament that will be very competitive, too. The ATX Showcase in Austin, Texas will feature more Oklahoma Clubs.

The Oklahoma Peak Performance 16 Smack Team will be the only team playing in the "Open" Division representing Oklahoma vs. the Nations TOP "Open" Teams in Omaha. The Oklahoma Charge 17 Nationals will try to Three-Peat in Kansas City...both these teams feature Lady Irish student-athletes!

Girls’ Youth A2 Team Program (GYA2) – will train and compete at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, July 19 – 29, 2012. Probable cost: $1100 plus travel to/from Des Moines
Girls’ Youth Continental Team Program (GYCT) – will train and compete at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, July 19 – 29, 2012. Probable cost: $1100 plus travel to/from Des Moines
Girls’ Youth A3 Camps (GYA3) – will train at various locations across the country in 5 day camps. Locations to possibly include Las Vegas, NV, Colorado Springs, CO, Grand Rapids, MI, Edmond, OK, Ft. Worth, TX, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Cost: $600 plus travel to and from location.

Ranked #2 in the State of Oklahoma according to MaxPreps (Hitting %), MaxPreps ranked #5 in Blocks and # 6 in Kills in the State of Oklahoma. On a National level, Bailey ranked #9 in all classes of RS Hitters in Hitting % category. Selected to the 2011 USA Volleyball High Performance Camp in Texas last summer.
